Region Lazio: Rome excluded from the nine municipalities of the urban security funds

Regione Lazio, according to Regional Law 15/2001, funded since 2008 projects on urban security in the towns of Lazio and the Municipality of Rome. The law was responsible for finance, inter alia, works for the redevelopment of urban areas and an educational and social initiatives aimed at prevention. In all these years, many local institutions have been able to provide various services from the opening of branches of hearing in the presence of social mediators in the territories, the activities of legal education in schools.
been interpreted by many municipalities and municipalities in Lazio of Rome Law 15 was to understand security as an integrated system that included the participation of citizens and local associations to define the issues, care of urban space, to protect the rights of minorities and groups most affected by the impoverishment dall'imbarbarimento economic and social relations (women, elderly, children, foreigners), violence and urban decay and social development.
Until 2009 the Region has been allocated approximately € 8 million per year to fund about 129 projects actions between social and urban regeneration, while in the last edition of the regional call for the financing fell to € 1,745,000 with the admission of only 44 projects across the region Lazio.
Only in Rome, were excluded (for 1 point) Municipalities III, VII, IX, X, XI, XIII, XV, XVI, who in the last two years were experimenting with different approaches to security and the militarization of the territory evictions spectacle for the consumption of media. Approaches that seen in the first place social work, dialogue with citizens and conflict mediation, inclusion, the contrast with violent conduct, the urban vandalism, bullying. An approach to security that is not obviously pleased with the Lazio Region, which has left eight municipalities of Rome even drier than economic resources.
Yet another blow to the Roman town halls, already tested by other, more substantial cuts in common that they see the junta to Polverini and Alemanno. A shot, which struck even on dozens of projects that the third sector was continuing with the Regional Law 15, trying to combine the issue of security with that of participation and inclusion. A third area increasingly impatient with the continuing cuts and the humiliation of social work and has decided to demonstrate on Thursday February 17 in the Capitol for the Pride of the social.
